Tina Hott Rube Goldberg Reflection

My rube goldberg project demonstrated three simple machine within my rube a inclined plane,wheel and axle,and finally the pulley. The incline plane was a like a slide where the marble would stop in the tower creating potential energy before roll down the slide towards the pulley and wheel and axle after the incline plane the marble would gain speed before hitting the other marble causing kinetic energy which then activated the pulley which was a string attached to a ball that would slowly release the wheel and axle on the string.
If i dropped a 7.0 gram steel ball 50 centimeters into a tiny bucket onto a pulley system the calculations would be
PE=(m)(g)(h)
m=7.0g = 0.007kg
g=9.81m/s2
h=50cm = .5m
PE=(0.007kg)(9.81m/s2)(0.5m)=0.0343J
Then i actually tried dropping a the steel ball in the bucket with its velocity being 45cm/s and if you calculate the results you get this
KE=(½)(m)(v2)
m=7g = 0.007kg
v=45c/s = 0.45m/s
KE=(½)(0.007kg)(0.45m/s2)=0.00070875J
Our design process to are rube was very effective first my group sat down in a circle and we started to pair people together so they could build there steps together and then we choose what groups would build what part to the project after all our steps where sketched out each and every pairs of people went their separate ways and started to gather materials to build our rube goldberg project. I believe one of my strongest skills within building this rube was advocacy, I’d always go around ask group members for help or where certain materials are. An area where i grew from this project is perseverance i really pushed through this project and did my best to finish it to its finest ability even with the many difficult challenges that i came face to face with.

Reflection questions for MINI Trebutchet
Our trebuchet was made in france during the mid-evil times and a way we simbolized that by painting the base of our trebuchet in a stone like pattern. a few of the 21 centry skills my group was able to use well was creativity because we used a different model and inginuity to create a wonderful treasure. A place that my group and i can work on is collaberation because it was difficult to place roles on people and being able to gather tangible data.
